Year 9 have been undertaking a special project to mark Holocaust Memorial Day and 80 years since the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
Welcome to the Year 9 'Responses to the Holocaust' exhibition. Year 9 have been studying this period of history in their Art lessons, and seeing how many groups of people suffered under the Nazi regime. This ultimately led to the Final Solution; the genocide of Jews we now know as the Holocaust. Students were encouraged to express their feelings about this unit of work through their artistic responses, and were given the freedom to use whichever artistic means they felt best resolved them.
