Our senior side’s final game of the season was an absolutely wonderful game of hockey, played in warm spring sunshine at Stourport Sports Centre.

Our Old Foleyans came from near and far to take part in this now annual event, taking afternoons off work and university courses around the UK to join their friends and former school team mates.

After weathering an early onslaught, OSH took a first quarter lead with a breakaway goal from Ibrahim W who finished deftly past the OFA keeper who three days earlier had been playing in the national men’s senior cup semi-final in London - no mean achievement!  And a further goal from Ibrahim before the half time break was fully deserved.  However, the Old Foleyans’ wealth of skill and talent gradually began to pay dividends, despite some magnificent and courageous saves from Manveer in the OSH goal who had a terrific game.  2-0 up became 2-4 down but Ibrahim wasn’t done, scoring a memorable third goal in the final period to make it 3-4.  Time waits for no man however, and OSH couldn’t quite find that last leveller.

Player of the match was rightly awarded to Kieron for a magnificent game at the heart of the midfield.  This performance was all about the whole team however, which has had a hugely enjoyable and successful season under Remy’s captaincy and every player in the squad gave the match their all

Our sincere thanks once again go to Old Foleyans captain, Alex Woodley, for organising their squad and all the Old Boys of the School who came back for the afternoon.  And particular thanks go to all the mums, dads, grandparents , friends and other family members who helped make the afternoon such a special one.

See you all next year!
