"Sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty..."
In February OSH witnessed, after six years, the return of the whole school production in the shape of Matilda JR. The Musical. What a huge success it was!
With students from Years 7 to 13 all being involved in the creation of the show, it was a wonderful opportunity for pupils to build strong and long-lasting friendships across the different year groups.
The excitement of rehearsals, the camaraderie of the cast and the thrill of performing has left those involved with an unforgettable experience which they will treasure for years to come.
I am so proud of each member of the cast and the commitment they demonstrated over the four months it took to produce the show. From attending rehearsals in their own time, learning their lines and choreography which was vital for the success of the production, to performing their hearts out for their audiences over two nights. They were a dream to work with.
I’m sure the family and friends of the cast as well as the staff who came to see Matilda JR. would agree that we are very blessed here at OSH to have such talented youngsters in our school.
Some of our wonderful Year 7 cast said the following comments:
Being in a school show has been really inspiring and fun. I got to meet many talented people and bond with my friends who were also in the show.

Being in the school production is so much fun and can make you feel a lot more comfortable when performing in front of crowds. Even though it was hard work and tiring at times, it was 100% worth it. We even got biscuits and huge applauses at the end of every performance. I really enjoyed getting to know people I wouldn’t usually meet at school who were part of the cast.
Alexandra
I really enjoyed being in the show because I got to meet loads of new people and make lots of friends. Everyone was really supportive during the run up and on show days. It was hard work but worth it.
Beatrice
I really enjoyed the production of Matilda as it was fun in the rehearsals, and I also made new friends. Show nights were exhilarating.
