Co-curricular activities are a big deal at OSH!
OSH is proud of its co-curricular programme which rivals that of any independent school.
Opportunities in sport and music are many and varied, whilst art, pottery, dance, drama, public speaking and chefs’ club complement our programme. From Year 8, students are invited to join the Combined Cadet Force, and then from Year 9 the majority become involved in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
The co-curriculum is not just about keeping young people active and engaged after lessons, however. It seeks to impart and induce team work and communication skills, problem solving habits, and it seeks to grow in young people that all important resilience. The co-curriculum is one of the best places to try new things, to make mistakes in them (and to learn from those mistakes) and to take risks.
With more than 45 clubs and activities
What will you try?
Day Students are welcome to participate in co-curricular activities that fall during the school day, are related to their academic studies, or see them represent the School in sport or music. There’s also on-site activities such as archery and cookery, or pottery and quizzes enable our Boarders to be kept busy at weekends.
